Brown-headed Nuthatches find home at Reynolda
Last month in cooperation with the Audubon Society of Forsyth County, our staff installed ten bird boxes for the Brown-headed nuthatch here at Reynolda. This species is in need of conservation efforts because of the habitat loss and population decline they have seen over the past forty years. We are excited to be a part of the statewide program that hopes to put out 10,000 boxes in North Carolina by 2015. To learn more about this program and other programs under the Bird Friendly Communities Grant see www.forsythaudubon.org. A video about the project can be seen here. You can also read about these nuthatches in the latest Home and Garden section of the WS Journal.
