Noah’s Ark for the Plant World
March 28, 2017 at 12:30 pm • RGWFU Education Wing
Just as Noah worked to save humanity two-by-two, the NC Plant Conservation Program uses a similar strategy for the 421 Endangered, Threatened, and Special Concern-Vulnerable plants in North Carolina. The plan is to have each species located on a State Preserve dedicated to its conservation in its natural habitat. From our most spectacular species such as Bog Rose and Oconee Bells, to the seemingly insignificant small-anthered bittercress, to the wildly popular Venus Fly Traps, this program looks at the remarkable diversity of the flora of North Carolina and what is being done to keep it safe.
