Science Café: Mars!
May 01, 2018 at 07:00 pm • Kaleideum North
In 2003, Mars made its closest approach to the Earth in 60,000 years at a mere 34.6 million miles. At the end of July this year, it will be almost as close, only 35.8 million miles! We’ll catch up with the spacecraft currently in operation on and around Mars, and talk a bit about this year’s close encounter.
Bruce Gavett, member of the Forsyth Astronomical Society and Kaleideum Astronomy Educator
Co-sponsored by Kaleideum. Free and open to the public. No registration required. Teachers will receive certificate of attendance for CEU. See the Reynolda Gardens’ website or Facebook page for further information.
